Dennis Hosts Pay-As-You-Throw Informational Sessions

KA_Dennis_Town hall Police30_11713DENNIS – The Town of Dennis Solid Waste and Recycling Committee will be hosting several information forums on the Pay-As-You-Throw program coming up.

The forums will be held at the Dennis Police Station on April 5 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., April 11 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and April 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The program was previously pulled from the warrant last fall but selectmen recently voted to place the article for the annual town meeting on May 3.

The program aims to reduce waste and increase recycling efforts, helping the environment, while cutting down on disposal fees for the town.

If passed, color-coded trash bags costing between $3-10 per roll would have to be purchased, however the cost of a transfer sticker would go from $145 to $45.
