Dennis Police Department Announces Annual Citizens Police Academy

KA_Dennis_police 32_11713DENNIS – Applications are being accepted for the annual Dennis Citizens Police Academy.

The course begins in March and will give residents a behind the scenes look at how the department operates.

Topics covered include investigative functions, the use of force and defensive tactics, police communications, the law, and community policing.

Dennis residents over the age of 18 are eligible for the course after a criminal background check. The class will be capped at 30.

Applications are available at the Dennis Police Station, via the department’s website, or by contacting the Community Policing Unit at 774-352-1528.

The deadline for applications is March 1.

The course begins March 7 and is held every Monday night from 6:30 to 10 pm until May 16.
