DENNIS – The Dennis Police Department recently graduated its 14th Citizens Police Academy class.
The 29 participants completed the 10 week program which covers topics including community policing and crime prevention, the court system, OUI enforcement, investigations, the K9 program, harbormaster functions, scams and frauds, communications, traffic safety, animal control, defensive tactics, domestic violence, natural resources, officer family life, school resource officer, firearms and SWAT.
The attendees also spent a morning at the firearms range and will complete a ride-along this spring during the months of May and June.
The class met Monday nights from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Dennis Police Department community room.
