Dennis Police Honors ‘Volunteers in Policing’

Michael Nasif was honored as the Dennis Police “Volunteers in Policing” Volunteer of the Year for 2015 at a ceremony last Wednesday.

DENNIS – Members of the Dennis Police “Volunteers in Policing” were honored for their work in 2015 at a ceremony last week.

The VIPs, which number 45, staff the information window at the police station, assist with community programs, install lock boxes at homes and make daily well-being check phone calls.

Michael Nasif was named “Volunteer of the Year” logging 103.5 volunteer hours.

The VIPs logged at combined 2,244 hours in 2015 including almost 1,500 hours as greeters, 400 hours as reassurance callers and almost 400 hours for special projects.
