WEST YARMOUTH – A Dennis Port woman was arrested on multiple charges including driving under the influence after she allegedly drove into a home in West Yarmouth late last night.
Megan Laverty, 34, was traveling down Buck Island Road when she failed to stop at the Winslow Gray intersection.
Police said Laverty drove into the front of the home at 314 Winslow Gray Road and that there were no injuries.
A building inspector assessed the damage, which Yarmouth Police Sergeant Neal Donohue said was major, to both the inside and outside of the home.
Laverty was treated for minor injuries at the scene and was arraigned today in Barnstable District Court.
Donohue said that intersection is dangerous as multiple vehicles speeding on Buck Island Road have driven over the island and into yards on Winslow Gray Road.
