Dennis Public Library Re-Opening Today After Suffering Water Damage Last Week

DENNIS – The Dennis Public Library is re-opening today after suffering extensive water damage to portions of the building last week.

Town officials said that the library experienced a mechanical failure in an air handler on Friday, which caused the damages and forced the closure of the library for the last few days.

The library will open at its normal time of 10am and will have limited services, but patrons will still be able to return and check out material.

The public computers and Wi-Fi will not be functional for another few weeks until renovations near completion.

The Benjamin and Ruth Muse Meeting Room and the Children’s Room are not accessible until the work is completed.

All phone lines at the library are currently out of service.

Portions of the Children’s collections have been relocated to the main area of the library, where Storytime will still take place on Thursday mornings at 10:30am.

For more information on relocations or cancellations of programs and other events at the library, go to dennispubliclibrary.org.
