Dennis Voters to Address Wastewater Partnership at Town Meeting

DENNIS – Dennis voters will tackle a series of municipal business items when they head to Town Meeting Tuesday night.

Residents will decide if they want to partner with Harwich and Yarmouth on a multi-million dollar joint wastewater project. The proposed central treatment facility would be located in Dennis. Proponents say pooling the resources from three towns would save money over each town building their own facility.

Voters will also consider a $4 million dredging effort at Sesuit Harbor. That article is one of many that are related to improvements at the bayside harbor.

Residents will vote on an additional $490,000 in funding for the new bathhouse at Mayflower Beach. $1.4 million was approved for the project last year, but cost overruns have pushed the price tag up since then.

Town officials will ask voters to approve a $35.5 million operating budget.

Dennis Town Meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Wixon School.
