Dover Man Dies in Plymouth Car Accident, Name Released

medflightPLYMOUTH – A Dover man died Friday from injuries sustained in a car accident on Route 3 Northbound in Plymouth.

Around 2:30 p.m. a Mercedes C300 traveled off the roadway into the median and struck a sign post, according to State Police officials.

The victim has been identified as Travis Martin.

Rescue crews medflighted the Martin, a passenger, to South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth where he later died.

The driver of the vehicle, Marion Martin, 74, of Dover, was taken to Jordan Hospital in Plymouth with injuries described as non-life threatening.

The facts and circumstances of the crash are still under investigation by troopers from the Norwell Barracks.

Troop D Headquarters, State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, Plymouth Fire/EMS and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation all assisted on scene.
