DENNIS PORT – The 2nd annual Downtown Dennis Port Block Party is today from from 11 a.m. until 4:3o p.m.
The event caps off Oyster Week in Dennis and features a number of activities including live music and karaoke, a haunted hounds block walk, classic car show and an oyster egg hunt.
Last year was really successful and this is the first year that our whole block is actually rented in full,” said Nicole Merriman, event planner and owner of Hot Diggity Dog Wash and Boutique. “So we decided we we’re going to build on that and really make it a big bash.”
Merriman hopes to see even more people attend the block party than last year.
“Last year we had hundreds of people and we were hoping we could close off (Route) 28,” said Merriman. “We are actually able to block off the parallel parking in front of our shops on (Route) 28, so we are hoping to see thousands at our event.”
The event is sponsored by the Dennis Port Merchants Association.
