Drawing to be held for Massachusetts Primary Ballot

ElectionBOSTON (AP) — We know who will be on Massachusetts’ presidential primary ballot. We’ll soon find out in what order the names of candidates will appear before voters.

Secretary of State William Galvin will preside Tuesday over a Statehouse drawing to determine ballot order for the March 1 primary.

Under state law, presidential primaries are the only elections requiring a drawing to establish the order in which candidates’ names appear.

Republican hopefuls that will be included in the drawing are — alphabetically — Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina, Jim Gilmore, Lindsey Graham, Mike Huckabee, John Kasich, George Pataki, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Rick Santorum and Donald Trump.

The Democratic ballot will include Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders.

Six candidates will appear on the Green-Rainbow Party ballot.
