YARMOUTH – Work to dredge the southern portion of the Bass River has not been slowed due to the recent stretch of cold weather, according to Yarmouth Natural Resources Director Karl von Hone.
About 10,000 cubic yards will be removed from the river between the Route 28 bridge and the southern tip of Marsh Island.
The goal is to improve water flow, depth and width of the main navigational channel and the spur channel between West Dennis Beach and Marsh Island.
A spring survey will determine if additional dredging is necessary in the approach channel at the mouth of the river.
