Driving School from AAA Offers Students Accelerated Way to Meet State Requirement

481240067 (1)SOUTH DENNIS – The company known for roadside assistance services will offer area teenagers an accelerated, week-long driving school this week during school vacation.

The state-mandated 30 hours of driver education will be condensed Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. this week at 6 Enterprise Road, Unit 4 in South Dennis.

Tom Terwilliger with AAA Northeast said those 15 and 9 months or older – the necessary age one must be to qualify for driving courses – typically prefer the accelerated courses.

“They’re very popular with teens, the only thing is, they fill up quick,” he said. “After the classroom they’ll have to do 12 hours of behind-the-wheel and another six hours of observation.”

Members and non-members of AAA may both join the classes, however members will receive a $50 discount.
