Due Date Approaching for Orleans Excise Tax Bills

ORLEANS – The Town of Orleans is reminding residents that motor vehicle excise tax bills are due later this month.

Payments are due in the Collector/Treasurer’s office or online by March 27.

A copy of the tax bill can be obtained through the customer portal at the town website.

Mailed payments must be received by the due date and postmarks are not accepted as a timely payment.

If mailing a payment, send to the address on the bill stub, which is the town’s automated Bank Lockbox check processing agent.

The address is: Town of Orleans Excise, P.O. Box 455, Reading, MA 01867-0855. Be sure to use that address if making an excise tax payment through a bank online billpay system, and always reference the current bill number with all payments.

Postmarks are not accepted, according to Massachusetts General Law, as a timely payment.
