Duffy Health Center Celebrates ‘National Health Center Week’

HYANNIS – As part of this year’s 2018 National Health Center Week Duffy Health Center will hold a Client Appreciation Cookout.

“National Health Center Week is a celebration of what community health centers and health centers do, recognizing both the hard work of the staff helping patients, but also recognizing the patients that we serve. So across the country different health centers will be participating in different ways,” said Elyse DeGroot, Director of Development and Community Relations for Duffy.

Each year, as a part of National Health Care for the Homeless Day on Tuesday August 14th, Duffy Board members, staff, and volunteers will create a vibrant, fun summer atmosphere in the parking lot of Duffy Health Center and welcome patients and clients for a cookout.

“It’s just a way of showing our clients how much we appreciate them and how much we enjoy working with them, and also giving them some food in kind of a celebratory manner,” said Degroot

“It’s a really nice way for staff and clients to interact in a non-clinical manner and just to have some fun together.”

Duffy Health Center is part of a nationwide network of health centers that serves more than 27 million Americans.

According to the Duffy Health Center:

Americans. Health centers have compiled a significant record
