Dukes County to Hold Special Election

KA_MA Mass Primary Election Voting Orleans_2016 winter_030116_022EDGARTOWN – Nomination papers are now available in Edgartown for the special election to fill the unexpired term of the Dukes County Register of Deeds.

The Dukes County Commissioners recently ordered the election to fill the vacancy that will exist upon the resignation of Register Dianne Powers as of November 7.

Nomination papers need a minimum of 25 signatures and the deadline to submit is May 3.

A primary will be held in September, followed by the general election on November 8. The winner of the election will serve the remaining two years of Powers’ six-year term.
