D-Y Special Education Budget Awaits Approval From Gov. Baker and State Senate

DENNIS – The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District is one step closer to gaining approximately $101,000 in state backed special education funding.

This all comes after the Massachusetts House of Representatives passed 72% of a $12.5 million dollar supplemental budget called “The Circuit Breaker.”

The program which was developed back in FY 2004 would reimburse local school districts a portion of their costs associated with educating highly special needs children.

“The Funding Circuit Breaker is an urgent matter as it supports all school districts in the Commonwealth,” said D-Y- Superintendent Carol Woodbury.

The program is now headed to the State Senate and Governor Charlie Baker’s desk for full approval.
