EAST SANDWICH – An East Sandwich woman hit it big this week, winning $15 million on a scratch ticket she purchased at a Mashpee store.

Hillary Alma is the first winner of the Massachusetts State Lottery’s new “Ultimate Millions” instant game, the largest scratch ticket jackpot offered by the lottery.

Alma purchased her $30 ticket at the Mashpee Country Store on Main Street on her way to the gym on Thursday morning.

She will receive her winnings in annual payments of $750,000, before taxes, for the next 20 years. Alma said she plans to use some of the money on home repairs.

The Mashpee Country Store will receive $50,000 from the lottery for selling the winning ticket.
