CHATHAM – Now that the Town of Chatham has taken possession of the former Eldredge Garage property, officials are seeking the community’s input on what to do with it.
The Eldredge Garage Property Planning Committee is reaching out to the general public, as well as community organizations and property abutters for both long and short term ideas.
The committee’s next meeting will take place tonight at 6 pm in the Chatham Town Hall Annex.
The nine-member committee has been at work weighing potential uses of the 1.4 acre parcel, which was acquired 2.5 million dollars earlier this year.
Ideas already being floating include additional parking, retail space, affordable housing, land conservation and recreational uses, or a combination.
