MARSTONS MILLS- Barnstable Police say that emergency crews on scene at Hamblin Pond in Marstons Mills concerned about what appeared to be a missing person did not find anything.
As of 7:15 p.m., the search had been called off after no one was found.
Police say they received a call about a possible missing person just after noon today.
When arriving on scene, a woman’s clothes and items left including money but no I.D. were found near the beach.
Barnstable and Yarmouth K-9 Units, the Massachusetts State Police Helicopter and a dive team was dispatched to search the area for a possible missing person.
The beach was recently closed after high levels of algae were found and there were no lifeguards, because beach staff had returned to school as the season winds to a close.
