Event and Exhibit to Bring together Science and Art

SOUTH YARMOUTH – Art and science will come together early next month in South Yarmouth.

Residents and visitors will be able to listen and see the works of some of the Cape’s scientists who are also practicing artists.

Art and Science More than Meets the Eye is an evening presentation on May 2 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod.

The scientists will share the ways the two entities have overlapped and enriched their lives as well as helping to understand the world around us.

Speakers at the event include Bob Ryder, a retired dentist and sculptor; Jessica Mark Welch, an associate scientist at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, visual artist and singer; and Bob Reece a retired MD and author.

In addition to the evening presentation, there is an art exhibition featuring artistic works with a science connection that will be on display from May 1 to May 13.
