CHATHAM – The Center for Coastal Studies will celebrate women in science this spring in Chatham.

The Board of Directors for the organization is inviting the public to the Chatham Bars Inn on May 24 for Homeport by the Bay.

The keynote speaker for this year’s event is Biliana Cicin-Sain, the president and chair of the International Board of Directors of the Global Ocean Forum.

The evening will also include hors d’oeuvres and signature dishes prepared by award-winning chefs using fresh, local ingedients, specialty cocktails and a live and silent auction featuring unique experiences.

Live music will also be performed by the Aaron Norcross Trio, a rockabilly blues band.

Tickets for Homeport by the Bay are $195 with proceeds to benefit the Ruth Hiebert Memorial Fellowship, which provides scholarships to women associated with the Center for Coastal Studies who are pursuing studies in marine sciences.
