HARWICH PORT – The Harwich Conservation Trust will host its 5th Annual Wildlands Music and Arts Stroll Saturday throughout their 66-acre Robert F. Smith Cold Brook Preserve in Harwich Port.

The event will showcase local musicians playing acoustic blues, classical and folk music on piano, guitar, mandolin and other instruments.

Original paintings from local artists will also be on display.

The event, which blends music, art and nature, was originally inspired by the “Piano in the Woods.”

An abandoned piano was found on HCT land in 2009 which led to worldwide media coverage.

The piano included a bench giving the impression someone was recently playing it beneath a canopy of pine-oak woodland.

“For some reason, the image of music blended with nature resonated with people and the story rocketed around the world,” said Matt Cannon, HCT’s Director of Land Stewardship.

To attend the event, park at the Monomoy Regional High School on Oak Street and board a shuttle for a 5-minute ride to the stroll area. Suggested donation is $5 per person.
