Eversource Commits to Pole Improvements in Falmouth

FALMOUTH – The Falmouth Board of Selectmen and representatives from Eversource have finally come to an agreement regarding utility poles in town.

At last month’s selectmen’s meeting officials with the utility provider committed to removing 84 double poles throughout the community.

The company said that they will have crews in Falmouth for several months working on removing at least nine double poles each week.

“It’s a symbiotic relationship,” said Eversource engineer Greg Carlstrom, “We have the opportunity to take our future potential linemen and give them an opportunity to get out there into the field to train and address the double pole situation – at the same time you guys have the opportunity also to have that blight taken care of and resolved.”

In addition, Eversource representatives told the board that they will be repairing or replacing aging or deteriorating poles as well.

Delays is a previous commitment to fix utilities poles in town resulted in selectmen tabling a request from Eversource to install new poles earlier this year.
