Eversource Conducts Helicopter Inspections of Transmission Lines

BARNSTABLE – Eversource Energy is conducting helicopter inspections over transmission lines this week across Cape Cod, the South Shore and Greater New Bedford.

The semiannual inspections check for any encroachment from trees or other vegetation and are part of the utility’s commitment to providing reliable electric service.

The white and blue striped helicopter with registration number N37WA will fly between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at a height of 300 feet and no low-level hovering is anticipated.

The inspections help engineers detect potential problems in advance, allowing the company to schedule necessary maintenance and upgrades before issues arise.
