BUZZARDS BAY–Energy company Eversource has presented the National Marine Life Center (NMLC) with a grant of $1,500. The grant will aid the NMLC with marine wildlife rehabilitation, environmental science research, and STEM education programs.
“We’re looking at developing some additional curriculum and making our offerings more widely available to the children and educational organizations on the Cape,” said NMLC President Kathryn Zagzebski.
The nonprofit has worked to rescue hundreds of marine animals in need of help since 2004. The NMLC also aims to teach the public on how to care for the ocean these animals call home.
Zagzebski is thankful Eversource is assisting that cause.
“It shows that they appreciate what we do and the fact that we can use the topics of marine wildlife rehabilitation and ocean science to inform our education programs,” she continued.
