MASHPEE – After 10 years as Executive Director, Barbara Cotton has left the Cape Cod Children’s Museum.
The Mashpee resident did not reveal why she was leaving the non-profit organization, but she resigned from the position two weeks ago.
Cotton said that she was proud to have served in a number of roles that positioned her to spearhead the organization, and to do so for 10 years.
Since leaving, Cotton said that she has received letters of commendation for her work from across the Cape and across the state.
“It’s humbling really,” said Cotton. “I do what I do because I believe that it matters; that it makes a difference.”
Marketing Director Adrienne Baumann is now leading the Museum on an interim basis.
The Museum is located on Great Neck Road South in Mashpee and serves 55,000 visitors annually.
