Extraordinary Women of Nantucket Program at the Whaling Museum

COURTESY OF THE NANTUCKET HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION

NANTUCKET- The Nantucket Historical Association will present their ‘Extraordinary Women of Nantucket’ event at the Whaling Museum set for mid-July and August.

During the recognition, NHA will portray historic Nantucket women over the course of four centuries, bringing these characters to life through heartfelt readings of their original letters, memoirs, and through song.

As members of a unique island community, Nantucket’s people have made their own way in the world. This is particularly true of the women who have lived there.

Participants in the event will be able to learn how Nantucket’s women were so ahead of their time, while raising families, running businesses, managing households, becoming involved in social movements, and more.

This special program will be presented at the Whaling Museum July 19th and August 9th at 4:00 p.m. with the cost set at $5 per person.
