Fall Events to Support Buzzards Bay Coalition

NEW BEDFORD – Fall is right around the corner and the Buzzards Bay Coalition will host two fundraising events to support clean water.

The 12^th annual Buzzards Bay Watershed RIDE will be held on Sunday, September 30.

Participants can choose from 35-, 75- or 100-mile bicycle rides on seaside routes from Rhode Island to Woods Hole.

Supporters who aren’t cyclists can also help by trying to hit fairways and greens.

The annual Buzzards Bay Coalition Golf Tournament on Friday, October 19 will give golfers a chance to play the private course at The Bay Club at Mattapoisett.

Foursomes will play a scramble-style format with awards, prizes, and a putting contest with the chance to win $5,000.

Boxed lunches and a post-golf reception will follow the tournament.

The events will support the coalition’s work to restore clean water in Buzzards Bay through science, advocacy, education and land conservation.
