FALMOUTH – A long-time employee of the Town of Falmouth will be leaving her post to take a position with the Cape Cod Commission.

Assistant Town Manager Heather Harper is leaving her position after 21 years to be a community design and housing planner with the commission.

“I’ve got many working years ahead of me and I’ve spent some time working with my husband and family and I’ve made a choice to make a change professionally, and I’m quite excited about it,” said Harper.

Harper is set to leave the town on Friday and will start at the commission later this month.

Harper said there are many things she is looking forward to at the commission.

“Continuing to work with local government, which is something I find the most attractive about the position, as well as excellent staff at the commission, I’m really eager to get started and embark on the next phase of my career,” said Harper.

Harper was previously the town’s assistant to the town administrator but the position was changed in 2007 when Falmouth updated its charter.
