Falmouth to Celebrate 35th Year of Fireworks

fireworksFALMOUTH – The 35th anniversary of the Falmouth Fireworks will take place on the Fourth of July this year.

Arthur Ratsy, a member of the Fireworks Committee, said the show is a patriotic celebration.

“To this day, it’s always been on the Fourth of July because I’m a very sincere believer that we should be celebrating America’s birthday, and that’s what we’re doing,” Ratsy said.

This year, a commemorative T-shirt was designed by local artist Karen Rinaldo which includes Nobska Lighthouse, Cleveland Ledge Light and other landmarks, painted against an emerald backdrop in the geographical shape of the town.

“It’s one of the best designs we’ve had over the years,” Ratsy said.

The Committee will sell these shirts in a fundraiser dubbed Operation Beg, which Ratsy described as one of his favorite fundraising efforts.

Operation Beg will take place Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28, at the Stop and Shop, Shaws, Windfall Market, Kenyons Market and Kappys Liquors in Falmouth.

Shirts can also be purchased at the Rockland Trust Bank in town, the Karen Rinaldo Gallery, Falmouth Chamber of Commerce and the Country Fare Restaurant until June 23.
