Falmouth Fireworks Fundraising Hits Stride

fireworksFALMOUTH -The Falmouth Fireworks Committee has gone from considering cancelling the Annual July 4 event to full fundraising mode.

Longtime Fireworks Committee member Arthur Ratsy said a call for emergency donations generated enough money, about $5,000, from five business people in order to put a down payment on the fireworks show.

Ratsy said the committee needs to raise about $55,000 more to cover the costs of the event.

Among the expenses for the fireworks is $10,000 which covers the tug and barge for the fireworks.

The fireworks begin at dusk at Falmouth Heights Beach on July 4.
