Falmouth Hosts Senior Center Feasibility Forum

seniorsFALMOUTH – Falmouth town officials are encouraging residents to attend a senior center site feasibility forum Thursday at Falmouth Public Library.

The town’s Senior Site Feasibility Working Group is recommending four sites for further study agreed upon by selectmen.

The locations considered for new construction include the Gifford Street extension, a Brick Kiln Road site, a Teaticket location and a downtown site.

Architecture firm Bargmann Hendrie + Archetype was hired by the town to study the locations to replace the current senior center.

The town wants the new center to be at least triple in size of the current location and with the initial analysis complete, town officials want the public’s input on the sites.

Based on the analysis, the facility should be between 15,000 to 20,000 square feet.

After receiving feedback from residents, the town will then select two or three locations for final analysis.

The forums will be held at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
