Falmouth Land Trust Looks to Purchase Tony Andrews Farm

FALMOUTH – The Falmouth 300 Committee Land Trust is looking at buying the Tony Andrews Farm, a 60-acre property off Old Meetinghouse Road, and hopes to rally support for the proposal in town.

The non-profit is working on a special town meeting article that would ask voters to fund a down payment on the property. A special town meeting is planned for April 4.

It is not yet known how much money the 300 Committee will ask for.

The Andrews Family, which has owned the farm since the 1930s, put the farm on the market in January for $4.4 million. The Committee is negotiating a potential deal with the family, in the event the funding is approved.

The non-profit group aims to buy the entire 60 acres. The Andrews family has expressed their desire to sell the entire property to one buyer.

Joe Andrews, one of six children of the farm’s founders, Tony and Marina Andrews, described the property as “A Jewel in the Crown of Falmouth.”

The land is primarily comprised of two large parcels. There are also six other lots located on Ronnie Road and Parker Road Pond.
