Falmouth Man Arrested in Pot Bust

FALMOUTH – A Falmouth man was arrested early this morning and charged with distribution of marijuana. A second man was charged with distribution of heroin later in the morning.

Jonathan Frye was arrested at 111 Pinecrest Beach Drive in East Falmouth and John Estrella was arrested at 145 Tanglewood Drive in East Falmouth.

Falmouth Police say the joint narcotics operation in the early morning hours of December 23 also involved members of the Barnstable Police Department, Mashpee Police Department, Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department and Cape Cod Drug Task Force with assistance from the Upper Cape Special Response Team, consisting of members of Falmouth Police, Mashpee Police and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department.

As a result of a search warrant at a home on Pinecrest Beach Drive, Jonathan Frye was arrested for possession of marijuana)  with intent to distribute, subsequent offense. Additionally, approximately 500 grams of marijuana and approximately $5,000 was seized by police. The street value for the marijuana is believed to be approximately $8,000.

According to police, four additional individuals associated with this residence are currently being sought by police for having outstanding warrants.

Also, police say, a separate investigation led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for John Estrella of 145 Tanglewood Drive, East Falmouth for the crime of distribution of heroin. The warrant was sought after Estrella sold heroin to an undercover police officer.

With the assistance of the Upper Cape Special Response Team, along with Detectives from Falmouth Police Department, Mashpee Police Department and Barnstable Police Department, Estrella was arrested at his home without incident, police say.

Both Frye and Estrella were scheduled to be arraigned today at the Falmouth District Court.
