Falmouth Museums on the Green Hosts Annual Haunted Experience

FALMOUTH – The Falmouth Museums on the Green will present its 11th annual “A Visit with the Night Watchman”, a slightly spooky haunted experience with a historical twist later this month.

Visitors will embark on a 20 minute tour through the 1790 Dr. Francis Wicks house with their escort, the Museums’ Night Watchman.

What happens inside the house is a closely guarded secret, but the eerie characters and mildly macabre scenes are based on real life historical figures and actual happenings in Falmouth.

Guest should be forewarned as the Museums’ grounds also feature spooky surprises.

Barbra Sillery, author of “The Haunting on Cape Cod and the Islands,” will spin spectral stories for visitors during the short waits between tours.

After the tour, visitors can wind down in the Cultural Center, where volunteers will serve up cider, donuts, and an interesting handout explain the “truths” behind this year’s haunted stories.

The event was created over a decade ago by Tamsen George, the Museums’ current Board Chair, to present local history in a unique way and to create a family-friendly event for the community.

A new storyline, sets, and special effects make each year’s haunting a unique experience.

The Cast includes “Night Watchman” veterans as well as new participants who want to tap into their inner thespian for a one night only performance.

The event is set to take place Saturday, October 26th from 6 to 9 p.m.
