Falmouth Officials Discuss Hosting Another Live-Survey

FALMOUTH – The results of Falmouth’s first live survey held in February were discussed at a recent board of selectmen Meeting.

The goal of the survey was to allow residents to give their opinions on several local issues and possible actions that could be taken to increase civic involvement.

Assistant Town Administrator Peter Johnson-Staub said ideas include making meeting packets more available, increasing the use of social media to inform the community and to consider an online survey to gauge participation interests.

“Another idea that came up was to hold another live survey that is more focused on a particular topic or two topics,” Johnson-Staub said.

Selectmen discussed holding another live survey this summer focusing on sense of place and visioning, along with working in conjunction with other town boards and groups.

Selectman Megan English-Braga said the surveys should become a regular occurrence.

“Whether it’s three times a year or even twice a year or whatever it is that it’s a regular thing that people know how to participate, want to participate and think about deeper ways that they can participate,” English-Braga said.
