Falmouth Police Arrest Two Suspects in Abduction Attempt

fa062415smallFALMOUTH – Falmouth Police have announced that they have arrested Bruce Bartlett, 60, and Dennis Bartlett, 61, the suspects in the alleged abduction attempt this morning.

Police thanked a citizen for providing a tip to police that the men had been seen on Palmer Avenue.

The arrest occurred at about 4:45. Police also towed from the scene the white van that was allegedly used by the suspects.

A middle school student reported that two men approached her while she was waiting for the school bus this morning in the Menauhant area of East Falmouth. She said they tried to entice her to get into their van, according to police.

The men were described as white with tattoos, beards, and bandanas. The vehicle was described as a white construction style van. The student used her cell phone to take a photo of the suspects as they approached her.

At just before 3 p.m., police released the names of two suspects along with their photos for their alleged involvement in the attempted abduction. The department had outstanding arrest warrants for the two men on charges of attempted abduction, enticing a minor, and conspiracy.
