FALMOUTH – Bill Greene, along with several supporters, have donated Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to the Falmouth Police Department. The AEDs will become part of the array of life-saving equipment carried in each patrol car.
Mr. Greene’s story began last Thanksgiving when he collapsed at the Falmouth Ice Arena due to a heart attack. Immediately, two of his teammates started CPR and used an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to diagnose and treat a life-threatening cardiac event with electrical therapy and reestablish a heartbeat.
After his recovery, Mr. Greene found a way to give back to the community. He located several donors, along with the Zoll Medical Corporation to purchase thirteen Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and the required supplies.
Today, he again expressed his gratitude to his two teammates, Falmouth Firefighters Todd Taylor and James Martin for saving his life. In addition, he paid it forward by donating the well-needed Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to the Falmouth Police Department.
Falmouth Police Chief Edward A. Dunne recognized their efforts as a partnership with the community and said, “Your service to the Falmouth community will unquestionably help to save lives.”
