FALMOUTH – In an effort to raise awareness of the continued housing needs in Nepal after the recent earthquake, the Falmouth Rotary Club will have a ShelterBox set up today at Peg Noonan Park.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., passersby are invited to examine the tent and its contents and to make a donation.
The Rotary Club is hoping to raise enough funds to provide ShelterBoxes for 10 families.
Each ShelterBox contains a tent that sleeps up to 10 people and has necessary supplies for families in need.
Over 500,000 victims of the earthquake still remain homeless.
The group raised over $10,000 for the Haitian earthquake four years ago.
Volunteers will be staffed at the display throughout the weekend.
