FALMOUTH – A school administrator from Delaware will become the next superintendent of the Falmouth Public Schools.
The town’s school committee unanimously selected Dr. Lori Duerr for the position at their meeting this week. Duerr is currently the assistant superintendent of the Colonial School District in New Castle, Delaware.
Nadine Ekstrom, the former superintendent in the Berlin-Boylston school district, and Kerri Anne Quinlan-Zhou, an assistant superintendent at Dighton-Rehoboth, were the two other finalists.
In total, 28 people applied for the position.
Current superintendent Nancy Taylor has announced plans to retire at the end of the school year. She has held the job since 2015 and has worked in the Falmouth school system since 1993.
Duerr will now enter into salary negotiations with the town.
