Falmouth Selectmen Approve Medical Marijuana Facility in Teaticket

FALMOUTH – Selectmen in Falmouth have voted unanimously to approve an agreement which could bring a medical marijuana dispensary to Teaticket.

The host agreement with Lakeville-based Nature’s Remedy of Massachusetts follows a draft agreement between the parties reached in August.

The deal calls for the company to purchase the property at 31 Teaticket Highway and develop a 2,300 square foot retail facility.

Nature’s Remedy Principal Robert Carr told the board that his company will work to comply with all state and municipal regulations.

“We will work closely with the Town of Falmouth to ensure that the proposed dispensary is in full compliance with all zoning bylaws,” he said, “Only registered patients, caregivers and other authorized visitors will be allowed access to the dispensary.”

According to officials with the company, the new dispensary would create more than 15 local, full-time jobs and would bring in roughly $6 million in revenue in their first year of operation.

The accord calls for the town to receive three-percent of the dispensary’s gross sales, amounting to up to $300,000 annually.

Following the Host Agreement, Nature’s Remedy now moves toward the state approval process.
