Falmouth Selectmen Approve Town Hall Renovations

Falmouth Town Hall 1FALMOUTH – Falmouth Selectmen approved a plan last month to renovate the interior of Town Hall.

The renovations are scheduled for all three levels of the building with the goal of increasing efficiency by moving town government offices and improving customer service.

Falmouth Town Manager Julian Suso said the goal of the renovations is to integrate services for residents to be better served with “one-stop shopping.”

The work is being planned to be completed in phases so Town Hall can remain open.

The first phase of the project includes moving the planning office and preservation consultant to be located next to the building department and inspectional services on the lower level.

“The departments would work better together,” said architect Fred Giampietro, from Giampietro Architects. “And also [it allows for] for the public to use the facility a lot easier than it is now.”

“We worked up three different designs. Presented those to the town manager and others,” said Giampietro. “We narrowed that down to this final presentation.”

The project will be put to town meeting voters in November.
