Falmouth Selectmen’s Meeting Room Slated for Improvements

FALMOUTH – Plans are in the works to remodel the Selectmen’s Meeting Room at Falmouth Town Hall, but so far the board that primarily uses the room has not been supportive of any of the proposed changes.

Selectmen recently rejected a number of ideas including a narrower meeting table, desktop computer monitors and a large presentation screen behind the board’s table.

While a working group will continue to hammer out design details, increasing seating capacity will not be an option.

“We look at a variety of different layouts in the hope that we can maximize the number of seats and found that the current layout is actually pretty good,” said Peter Johnson Staub, Falmouth Assistant Town Manager.

When a compromise is reached, taxpayers will not be paying for any of the work.

“We’re fortunate to have some funding through an easement from Comcast that will fund a large portion of these improvements,” Staub said.
