Falmouth Town Meeting Voters to Decide on 36 Article Warrant

Falmouth Town Hall 1FALMOUTH – Falmouth Town Meeting members will debate 36 articles during Monday night’s session, including one dealing with plans for a new senior center.

Selectmen and the finance committee recently voted to recommend the indefinite postponement of an article that seeks design money for the project.

Both boards want to get a firm dollar figure before asking voters for money, which will likely happen at the spring Town Meeting.

Selectmen have been debating a potential location for a new senior center and recently reverted back to the Gus Canty Center and away from land near the high school.

Other articles up for debate include several zoning changes, updates to the Local Comprehensive Plan, the use of electronic voting devices at Town Meeting and money to remove asbestos from the Teaticket Elementary School.

Falmouth Town Meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Falmouth High School Auditorium.
