Family Pantry Accepting Gifts for Families in Need

family-pantryHARWICH – The Family Pantry of Cape Cod is collecting toy donations for families in need for the holiday season.

Last year the pantry provided toys and gifts to 1,100 children.

Donations of toys for children and gift card for teens can be made at the organization’s Queen Anne Road location in Harwich Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.

The pantry is also accepting monetary donations at thefamilypantry.com/donations.

The organization receives toys from private drives, business drives, personal donations and Toys for Tots.

Collection bins will also be located at the Harwich Chamber of Commerce, Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank locations in East Harwich and Harwichport, William Ravies in Harwichport, The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod in East Harwich, Second Glance Thrift Shop in West Harwich, Monahan & Co. Fine Jewelers in Harwichport and Talbots in East Harwich.

All toys must be new and unwrapped and stuffed animals will not be accepted.

Each child will receive gifts worth about $50 and young teens will receive $25 gift cards.

Gifts will be distributed on December 18 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Client registration for toy day is being accepted through December 8. Children must be verified in order to register and parents must have a birth certificate, MassHealth card or passport. Only pantry clients with children under 15 are able to participate.
