HARWICH – The Family Pantry of Cape Cod, who served 457 dinners to the Cape’s families in need last Thanksgiving, is gearing up for another drive this year.

The organization is urging those who feel they need help putting dinner on the table this holiday to become members by registering before the November 17th deadline.

But the pantry also needs donations to ensure a predicted 500 meals can be served, according to Executive Director Christine Menard.

“We’re hoping the community will come together to buy a turkey for themselves and buy an extra for the pantry,” she said.

Medium sized turkeys can be brought to the pantry, 133 Queen Anne Road, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

Frozen pumpkin pies are also desirable, Menard said.

The Family Pantry serves about 9,000 people annually.
