BOSTON (AP) — Farmers from around Massachusetts are making the trip to Beacon Hill to tell lawmakers what’s on their minds.
Tuesday is Agriculture Day at the Statehouse, an annual event that gives farmers the chance to meet directly with legislators and other state officials to discuss issues that are affecting their operations.
The schedule includes a reception featuring Massachusetts-grown food and exhibits that highlight a wide range of agricultural activities in the Bay State.
Agriculture Day, better known as Ag Day, is organized by several groups including the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation, which is urging farmers to attend. The bureau says it’s an opportunity not only to visit with lawmakers but also to meet and network with other farmers from across the state.
