Felony Charges Filed by ARL Against Middleboro Kennel Owner

BREWSTER–The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) has filed criminal charges against the owner of a commercial kennel facility in Middleboro.

Michael Perette is being charged with five felony charges of animal cruelty, as well as an additional 23 misdemeanor charges of neglect and abuse.

24 animals were seized from the property last month. Most of the animals, which were living in unsanitary and dangerous living conditions, were Cane Corso and Dogo Argentino dogs. A peacock, donkey, chicken, and ducks were also seized.

The ARL advised they will not be making any further comments until judicial proceedings wrap up. The animals are still being treated at the ARL’s facilities, including their Brewster location.
