PLYMOUTH – Officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will address the public following an exercise at the Pilgrim nuclear power station on Friday, November 18.

The briefing will be held at the Hampton Inn and Suites, 10 Plaza Way, Plymouth, and will serve as an opportunity for the public to ask questions regarding what officials observe at the full-scale exercise earlier that day.

All communities within the 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone will be required to activate their emergency operation centers during the exercise.

It will allow federal teams to examine the ability of the local, state and utility officials to protect the public in the event of a radiological release.

The station is set to close in 2019.
