Festival of Trees Brightens Halls of Nantucket Whaling Museum

BB_Nantucket_HistoricalAssociationAdministrativeOffices_Summer2015NANTUCKET – The 22nd Annual Festival of Trees at the Whaling Museum on Nantucket is fully lit for the season.

The Nantucket Historical Association puts on the event each year inside the museum, at 13 Broad Street.

It features over 80 specially-adorned Christmas trees, each one handcrafted by local merchants, nonprofit organizations, artists and children.

On Wednesday the bedazzled museum will host a theater workshop featuring actors reading traditional and contemporary Christmas stories.

The festival will continue through December 31st with closure for Christmas Day.

The museum is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the addition of Monday through Thursday from December 28th through 31st.
